Michelle was born and raised in Peru. After working in different roles at Ingram Micro and IBM in Peru, she began her academic career as a professor in Management Information Systems at Esan University where she received her MBA. Michelle is a professor in the department of engineering and past Dean of the School of Engineering of the Universidad del Pacífico, Lima-Peru. She also leads a series of initiatives such as Sustainable Cities as an academic ally of the City Science Group of the MIT Media Lab, Urban logistics and distribution of perceivable products as part of the FAROL initiative of the MIT Center for Transport and Logistics CTL, the Lima cargo observatory – OTUC with the Transport and Logistics Center of the Andrés Bello University in Chile among other initiatives developed by the advanced analytics laboratory of the Universidad del Pacifico. She has been a WIDS ambassador since 2017. She currently serves as Vice-President – Meetings in Production and Operations Management Society – POMS Latin America & Caribbean Chapter.
