Marilia Gaiarsa
Assistant Professor at the Life and Environmental Sciences Department, UC Merced
Marilia Gaiarsa is an Assistant Professor in the Life and Environmental Sciences at UC Merced. Her research focuses on using bees as a study system to understand the role species interactions play in the maintenance and persistence of biodiversity and the provision of ecosystem services, such as pollination. Prior to joining UC Merced, Marilia earned her Ph.D. from the University of São Paulo in Brazil and was a UC Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Fellow at UC Riverside. She was also a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at Zurich University in Switzerland.
