WiDS NextGen strives to inspire secondary and high female school students to take
relevant courses and consider future careers involving data science, Artificial Intelligence
(AI), and other related areas.
We particularly encourage younger women and girls to consider these STEM fields by
showing examples of successful women in technology roles. In addition, we strive to
impress all students that diversity and inclusion are extremely important.
WiDS for high schools emphasizes real-world applications and data science’s societal and environmental impact.
The event is associated with the Stanford University international initiative of Data Science for Schools (NextGen). The initiative is aligned with the Saudi Vision 2030 , SDGs, especially SDG 5, 9 &17 and WiDS NextGen Education at the University of Stanford, USA.
Data Science Club, under the supervision of AIDA Lab, initiated the Data Science
for Schools (Stanford WiDS Nextgen Program) 2024. The main goal of the project is:
Raise the awareness of AI and Data Science among the schools and equip the school
students and instructors with core data science and cybersecurity skills.
Objectives:
To encourage and motivate the school students in the field of data science.
An opportunity to promote full and equal access to AI and Data Science resources.
To provide a tech platform to school students and instructors
